ADHD Evaluations
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that interfere with functioning or development. Diagnosing ADHD in adults requires a comprehensive and nuanced approach, as symptoms often present differently in adults compared to children. Adults with ADHD may have developed coping mechanisms over time, making their symptoms less obvious but still impactful on their daily functioning.
Our ADHD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) evaluations for adults are individually-tailored, based on the symptoms that they are presenting with and based on their biopsychosocial history. The testing may include assessment of intellectual abilities, attention, executive functioning, and achievement, and questionnaires to evaluate mood, personality, and behavioral issues. The evaluator may request academic records for review.
Often times, there are other conditions that look like ADHD that need to be ruled out. The results of each evaluation will included a customized treatment plan to assist with the patient’s reported cognitive complaints.
